The project.
We were once again instructed by our regular interior design client to carry out high end residential painting and decorating in this two bedroom two bathroom luxury apartment at Battersea Power Station, with views of the River Thames and Battersea Pier.
Carrying out luxury home painting and decorating in exclusive properties required skill and experience to ensure an exceptional finish as well as leaving this Battersea Power Station flat clean for when the owners next visit so Phantom Painters and Decorators were called in – Battersea painters and decorators.
Specification.
For this project we used a premium quality paint by Paint and Paper Library – a high quality paint endorsed by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). For the plaster walls our Battersea painters and decorators used Pure Flat Emulsion to give a soft chalky feel, complementing the industrial design.
Open plan living – in this spacious reception, dining and kitchen, we applied Wattle V 565 to wall adjacent to dining area and The Botanist 574 to the living room media wall.
Master Bedroom – our Battersea painter and decorator applied Desert Rose to walls, giving a warm peachy undertone.
Guest Bedroom – we applied Wattle III 563 to headboard wall and the wall opposite the bed which gave a neutral look and feel.
Entrance and Hallway was also painted in Wattle V 565.
Our Battersea painters and decorators applied the premium soft chalky paint skilfully to ensure clean sharp lines around other colours and surfaces that were not to be painted including white wood skirting and adjacent exposed original brick walls and black iron girders.
The result.
On arrival inside the Battersea Power Station, our Battersea decorator were mesmerised and in awe of its industrial heritage and design, from the industrial foyer through to industrial exposure in the corridors. But when our Battersea painter entered the apartment, we were perhaps expecting less industrial design and more ‘new build’ look and feel but was pleasantly surprised how the industrial décor was in abundance in this Battersea Power Station apartment.
Even the chosen colour scheme complements this industrial landmark, with a modern twist, using deep rich colours as reminder of the Power Station’s industrial past and other colours to marry other industrial elements, including the original brickwork. For instance, The Botanist by the Paint and Paper Library, is a deep chalky green which complements the industrial heritage of the building while creating a feature wall and separate zones for such a large living space. In the Master Bedroom, the Paint and Paper Library Desert Rose we believe complements the original brickwork quite well, while at the same time, providing a warm undertone for a place of sanctuary.
